Group dental insurance
Many people stay away from having dental insurance because they are afraid of waiting periods, pre-existing conditions, and lack of choice of dental providers. All of these things can be avoided if you are part of a group with five or more employees even if you have never had group dental insurance before. There are dental carriers, and health insurance companies as well, that have dental plans called Passive Insurance Plans. These plans allow you to go to any dentist you want and give almost the same benefits as their in network dentists. Preventive Care is covered at 100% in almost all cases. There is no underwriting involved with dental coverage and therefore no pre-existing conditions. Also, if there are waiting periods for groups that have not had prior coverage they do not apply to Preventive services and usually not for Basic services either. Therefore if you have never had dental insurance before you can start using these services on day one of coverage. These services are for cleanings, x-rays, examinations, sealants and sometimes even root canals and fillings.
